FACULTY OF ARTS

The Faculty of Arts, Bauchi State University, Gadau, is among the five debut faculties in the University at its inception in 2011.

Originally established as the Faculty of Arts and Education, an independent Faculty of Education was mounted in 2020, hence separating the former from the latter. Prior to the split up, the Faculty was almost the largest in the entire University, as it was accommodating all the educational programmes run by its Education Unit, in addition to the recently mounted Library and Information Science (LIS) programme.

The present Faculty of Arts houses the Departments of Arabic, English and Literary Studies (Language & Literature Units), Islamic Studies as well as Nigerian Languages and Linguistics (Hausa & Linguistics Units).

Until November, 2020, the Faculty was operating from temporary offices within the Faculty of Science, Gadau Main Campus, before moving to its permanent site at the same Campus.
